This story has been told a thousand times in a thousand galleries, but I just witnessed this occur on campus, so I thought I would share, in case some of you missed it.

A group of well-to-do art snobs are gathered in the gallery, appraising a new collection which a group of artists are in the process of installing. They are in quiet debate about the social repurcutions of a perfectly acurate sculpture defacing McDonald's. Some feel the work is making great strides toward ending the overcommercialism of the food industry; others thought it was making a statement against the forced obesity of children through aggressive marketing. Around this moment, the artist approaches, pushes through the crowd, and removes his large coke from a small table and walks away. The crowd, silent, disperses with red cheeks.
